In the 1980's a board game that required you to use your source of imagination to go through quests with your friends. This "nerd" cultured game was believed by parents and adults to have intentions of worshiping the devil and was causing kids to commit suicide. Everyone was worried that the events in the fantasy game were turning into a reality. In the video the disappearance of a 15 year old boy who was currently attending Michigan State University. The disappearance was just randomly associated to dungeons and dragons even though there was no evidence that he had ever even played or heard of the game. An investigator was hired and he looked for him in an underground building thinking he would be there based on a tac-board having tacs shaped like the building. He found nothing, the boy was later found and said he couldn't say what happened. He committed suicide a year later.
One connection I made with the reading "Media Phobia" and the D&D video was that in Sternheimer's writing she states that the media wants you to be scared because when you're scared you'll want to keep up to date with whats going so it was attracting viewers and in the video when all these disappearances were being connected to D&D it was getting spread all over the news which surprisingly made sales increase a lot because people bought the game because they wanted it banned or people who just wanna buy it. The other connection I made was the separation of children to adults, adults are becoming so obsessed with thinking all things kids enjoy have negative affects on them, in the reading adults though comic books caused increased violence and that pinball promoted gambling for kids. Just like in the video these adults are blaming this bored game that uses kids imaginations and connecting it to devil worship and suicide when in reality it's just what they enjoy.

I agree with your connects, like you said when you are scared you want and need to keep up with what is going on in the world and at the time it was D&D. Great paragraphs.
