Rise of the Lavish Wedding

The bride I decided on was Kelly, when Kelly first started looking for a dress she was inspired by Princess Grace Kelly. She was looking for a black wedding dress, 3/4 sleeved with a Grace Kelly touch. Kelly brought her family in with her to help her find the dream dress. Kelly's family is very opinionated on the dress Kelly wears and isn't really concerned about her happiness especially when it comes to her mother. Let's just say they were not a fan of the black dress.

Your wedding is probably the closest day you are to becoming a princess and is a main reason Kelly was influenced to get a Grace Kelly dress because she wanted to feel like a princess. What makes Kelly unique though is that she wanted to go against all social norms of regular weddings dresses and get a black dress. Getting a black dress goes against all norms of the past because wedding dresses were supposed to be white to represent sexual purity (bride was a virgin) and show racial superiority. It goes with today's norms because the goal is for your dress to be a fashion statement so wearing a black dress definitely would have been a bold move that would of raised a lot of eyes. But with no support from her family on the black dress she decided to go with dress that made her feel elegant and classy rather than bold and dangerous.

  1. I like how you had examples from the video and how you put that she wanted a black dress but no one wanted that. And how you have that she wants to feel like a princess but was breaking all the norms. Also how you have some history in you post.
